The Challenge

Nitrogen inputs in turf grass provide many benefits. Less than optimum management of nitrogen, however, can lead to excessive vegetative growth, weak plants susceptible to stress, and adverse environmental impacts.

The Science

Nitrogen may be the most important nutrient because it is a component of every plant cell. Nitrogen applied to the soil is readily converted to highly plant-available forms. These plant-available forms are highly susceptible to leaching out of the root zone.

While plants readily assimilate nitrogen, key metabolic processes in the plant must occur efficiently in order for the plant to optimize the value of the nitrogen content. It is not difficult to promote assimilation of nitrogen in turfgrass, but is often a key limiting factor to achieving optimum conditions.

The redox Solution

Increased microbial activity in the root zone in order to incorporate nitrogen into biological cycles, which helps retain nitrogen in the root zone. Improve plant metabolism to facilitate amino acid conversion in the turf. Redox has three tools that may be beneficial for improving turf through improved nitrogen efficiency: TurfRx C-85, TurfRx Supreme, and TurfRx K+.

TurfRx C-85

A reacted plant nutrient product high in potassium and soluble carbon. TurfRx C-85 improves soil microbial activity due to the short, medium, and long-chain soluble carbon content. Apply 3 – 6 pounds to the soil per acre per season (1.1 to 2.2 oz./1000 ft2), or 1 pound for every 40 - 80 units of nitrogen applied.

TurfRx Supreme

A reacted plant nutrient product containing key plant nutrients as well as key soluble carbon compounds derived from a proprietary fermentation process. TurfRx Supreme improves nitrogen metabolism due to key soluble carbon compounds. Apply 0.25 to 1 gallon per acre (.7-2.8 oz./1000 ft2) via foliar application as required.

TurfRx K+ Micro Crystal

A reacted plant nutrient product high in potassium and phosphorus. TurfRx K+ is unique in its ability to promote the production of phenolic compounds. Phenolic compounds are specific types of antioxidants. Use of TurfRx K+ is a compliment to efficient nitrogen metabolism. Apply 0.25 to 1 gallon per acre (.7-2.8 oz./1000 ft2) via foliar or fertigation application every 1 - 4 weeks or as required during periods of high plant nitrogen use.
